We often get enquiries about what equipment we use. Presumably because people want to ensure that we are up to date.
This page therefore gives a run down of what we use
For corneal topography assessment we use the Oculus Pentacam which is pictured above and which in our opinion is superior technology. We do however also use the Orbscan.
For surgery we use the AMO femtosecond laser to perform the Intralase and the Schwind Amaris laser machine for the Lasik component also pictured above.
Measurements are performed with the Lenstar and For conventional cataract surgery we use the latest Bausch & Lomb Stellaris and also sometimes the Alcon Infinity.
For Femtosecond cataract surgery we use the Catalys which I believe is superior to the other two on the market.
In glaucoma assessment we have the Heidelberg HRT II retinal tomograph which allows for optic nerve assessment and the Heidelberg Spectralis OCT pictured above, which allows us to do retinal nerve fibre layer analysis.
For Visual field assessment we use the Humphrey visual field analyzer with the SWAP module for early detection and the Glaucoma Progression analysis module.
For central corneal thickness we use the Pachmate.
As we see a lot of angle closure patients, we have an anterior segment OCT lens for our Heidelberg machine which allows us to visualise the angles.
We are also one of the very few practices to own an Ultrasound Bio Microscope (UBM) which permits us to have a view of the entire anterior segment including the ciliary body.
For glaucoma management we have the TANGO combination SLT and YAG laser.
