The cost of laser vision correction is considered elective surgery by Medicare and is therefore not able to be claimed. Some Health funds will cover you if you have extras cover so its best to check with your fund. You may also be able to claim the cost of vision correction as a tax deduction
REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE
This is not covered by Medicare but is sometimes covered by your fund. Please call for more information
IMPLANTABLE COLLAMER LENS (ICL)
This is not at all covered by Medicare so is fully out of pocket. The cost depends on in which facility it is done and which model of ICL is used. Please call for more information.
CATARACT SURGERY
We are a “Known GAP” provider so if you have insurance cover we will bill your fund and you only pay a small out of pocket cost
If you are uninsured, you you can still choose to self fund your operation. Most of the cost is the hospital
FEMTOSECOND LASER CATARACT SURGERY
If you have insurance then the cost of cataract surgery is covered by your fund but there a non claimable additional cost for the laser. To know more about this, call us on 9650 0210
